Abstract

BACKGROUND


Invasive fungal infections have emerged worldwide as the cause of opportunistic
infections. Hospital-acquired fungal infection has also risen over the past decade since
untreated fungal infections render patients to life-threatening conditions. This study aimed at
determining the prevalence of fungi infection in six communities in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.
